Betty Lou Vadeboncoeur, 90, of Bradley, passed away Wednesday (Feb. 13, 2019) at Riverside Medical Center. She was born Sept. 10, 1928, in Kankakee, to Arthur and Nellie (Sturgon) Duffield. Betty married Harold E. Vadeboncoeur Sr. on May 1, 1945; and he died Oct. 19, 1998.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed flower gardening. Betty loved taking care of children, babysitting and cooking. She was devoted to her family and husband.
Betty is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law; Harold (Julie) Vadeboncoeur Jr., of Bradley, and Michael (Darralynn) Vadeboncoeur, of California; a daughter and son-in-law, Marsha (Greg) Faford, of Bourbonnais; nine grandchildren, Tim (Kelly) Faford, Jason (Elisabeth) Faford, Michele (Brooke) Zitello, Amber (Evan) Perkins, Christopher Pender, Danae (Jeb) Ferria, Devin (Jake) Wilson, Matthew Vadeboncoeur and Dominque Vadeboncoeur; and 12 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is her sister, Shirley Hilbert, of Manteno.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Mary Pender; two brothers, Kenneth and Arthur Duffield; seven sisters, Louise Leveque, Geraldine Borgialli, Elizabeth Barber, Marion Hartman, Juanita Ferguson, Lois Parks and Jaquelyn Wilkins; and a sister-in-law, Sue Duffield.
The visitation will be 10 a.m. to noon Monday, Feb. 18, at Schreffler Funeral Home, Kankakee Chapel. The funeral will follow at noon with the Rev. Michael Dean officiating. Burial will be at Kankakee Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Aroma Township. Memorials may be made to the family wishes.
