Body buried in backyard identified as missing Modesto man
MODESTO, Calif. (AP) — Authorities in central California have identified a body found buried in a backyard as that of a Modesto man reported missing in February and that they are investigating his death as a homicide.
The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department says its coroner’s office used dental x-rays to confirm 26-yar-old Jacob Sutton-Bubeck’s identity.
The Modesto Bee reports Sutton-Bubeck was reported missing by his brother on Feb. 10.
The Sheriff’s Department says in a statement is not disclosing how Sutton-Bubeck might have been slain to protect the investigation.
Officials say a woman who rents the Modesto home was burying a pet in the backyard Sunday when she discovered the remains.
