BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH EVENTS

TUESDAY, OCT. 16

Ladies in Pink Luncheon, noon-1 p.m. Guyan Country Club, 5450 U.S. 60 East, Huntington. Shopping in the parlor begins at 11 a.m. Topic is holistic breast cancer care. Guest speakers include Dr. Ben Moosavi, St. Mary’s Breast center medical director; Cheryl Stephens and Sandra Kee, breast cancer survivors. Tickets are $35 with all proceeds benefiting the St. Mary’s Pink Ribbon Fund, which provides breast health services to uninsured and under-insured women. Reservations can be made by calling 304-526-1349, or by mailing a check payable to St. Mary’s Foundation to St. Mary’s Regional Cancer Center, 2900 1st Ave., Huntington, WV 25702.

FRIDAY, OCT. 19

Free clinical breast and gynecologic exams, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Edwards Comprehensive Cancer Center. This is a one-day walk-in clinic offering free clinical breast and gynecologic exams. More information: 304-526-2440.

SUNDAY, OCT. 21

Breast cancer survivor reunion, 2-4 p.m. St. Mary’s Conference Center, 2849 5th Ave., Huntington. Speakers are Jane Mannon and Kathy Kelley, breast cancer survivors. For more information, call 304-526-8221.

SATURDAY, OCT. 27

Big Pink Volleyball Tournament, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Marshall Rec Center, 402 Thundering Herd Drive, Huntington. The Big Pink Volleyball Tournament is an indoor volleyball tournament played with a ball 10 times larger than regular size. The exact length of the tournament is subject to change based on registrations. The registration fee is $5 for each individual player and teams must have a minimum of three players. Proceeds benefit the St. Mary’s Pink Ribbon Fund, which provides breast health services to uninsured and under-insured women.
