September 16, 2018

WESTFORD -- The North Middlesex Regional High School football team defeated Groton-Dunstable, 14-8, in a Mid-Wach B contest played on Saturday night at Nashoba Tech.

The win is the first for Patriots’ first-year head coach Ryan DeMar.

North Middlesex scored touchdowns in the first and third quarters to take a 14-0 lead before the Crusaders made things interesting with a score early in the fourth quarter, but couldn’t move the ball out of their territory on their final two drives.

Adam Fournier scored the first TD for the Patriots on a 3-yard run, capping an 11-play, 62-yard drive. Mark Thomas scored the game-winning TD on a 19-yard run, with John O’Friel kicking his second PAT.

The Crusaders’ lone score came on a Bradley teDuits 8-yard QB keeper, with Tim Stark following it by a conversion rush.
