Quann, Moses Win U.S. Open Events
AUBURN, Ala. (AP) _ Olympic gold medalist Megan Quann broke her own U.S. Open record in the 100-meter breaststroke Thursday night, finishing in 1 minute, 7.25 seconds.
Quann set the previous record of 1:07.41 in 1998.
Ed Moses, a silver medalist in the Sydney Games, won the 100 breaststroke in 59.70, more than two seconds ahead of runner-up David Schulze.
Jamie Reid came from behind to win the women’s 200 backstroke in 2:09.47. Auburn’s Romain Barnier won the men’s 200 backstroke in 1:58.99.
