LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) _ Anthony Ronaldson scored 26 points, including baskets that forced both overtimes, as the Australian National Team rallied to a 93-82 exhibition victory over No. 3 Kansas on Monday night.
Ronaldson, who had 13 rebounds, broke free for a wide-open layup that made it 66-66 with 2.4 seconds left in regulation. He then nailed an 18-footer at the buzzer of the first overtime to make it 75-75.
Ronaldson opened the second overtime by working inside for a basket that gave the Australians their first lead since the first half. That sparked an 11-3 run that put the game out of reach at 86-78 with 1:18 remaining.
Kansas missed three free throws in the final two minutes of regulation and went 1-for-8 at the line in the first overtime. For the game, the Jaywhwaks hit 10 of 25 free throws.
Australia was 7-for-8 from the field in the second overtime.
Andrew Gaze added 23 points as the Australians continued their string of impressive victories. The team is 7-2 on its U.S. tour, including victories at No. 1 Kentucky and No. 10 UCLA.
The Jayhawks lost a home exhibition game for the first time since 1988, when they fell in overtime to the Soviet National Team.
Greg Ostertag led Kansas with 26 points and Steve Woodberry had 18. Ostertag scored consecutive baskets to put Kansas ahead 30-27 at halftime, and keyed 9-0 runs in each half that kept the Jayhawks in control most of the game.
Australia wiped out a 12-point deficit in the final five minutes of the second half with 12 straight points. Half were by Gaze, whose 3-pointer tied the score 61-61 with 2:22 to go.
