Anne was born Feb. 24, 1930, to Charlie and Susie (Kramer) Vander Galien of Randolph. On Sept. 2, 1949, she married the love of her life, George Dykstra. Together, they worked hard on their dairy farm and raised their five children.
She enjoyed family, cooking, baking, gardening and canning, bowling and crocheting. She also enjoyed driving bus for students with special needs. She was a member of the Second Christian Reformed Church in Randolph and active in Lydia Society and Bible studies. She and George enjoyed playing Scrabble in their later years, as well as, some trips and long rides.
Anne is survived by her five children, Lugene (Sharon) Dykstra of Randolph, Susan (Jim) Recker of Randolph, Gloria (Mark) Siciliano of Hampton, Iowa, Mary (Rick) Donovan of Pardeeville and Duane (Wendi) Dykstra of Randolph; 15 grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; sister Evelyn (Lawrence) Beekman and brother Stuart (Charlene) Vander Galien.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, George Dykstra; her parents; brother Mike (Evelyn) Vander Galien and sisters Jeanette (Gary) DeBoer and Flora (Ed) Homan.
A funeral service will be held Friday, Aug. 3, at 11 a.m. at the Second Christian Reformed Church in Randolph with the Rev. Keith Buist officiating. Interment will follow at Randolph Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, Aug. 2 from 4-8 p.m. at the Second Christian Reformed Church in Randolph. Visitation will also be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church Friday.
