Redding Garden Club’s annual plant sale returns

May 9, 2019

The Redding Garden Club’s annual Spring Plant Sale returns from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. this Saturday at the historic Lonetown Farm, 43 Lonetown Rd.

It will feature a wide variety of annuals, perennials, herbs, vegetables, hanging baskets, and member-grown plants, many of which are deer-resistant. Master Gardeners will also be on hand with plant care advice.

Garden tools and garden-related items will also be sold at “Second Hand Rose” in the big red barn and potting is available for those who buy a container and plant.

Volunteers will be there from local nonprofit organizations to offer information including the Redding Conservation Commission’s “Trail Tenders,” the Norwalk River Valley Trail, Neighbors and Newcomers, Highstead, and New Pond Farm. The garden club will have a tree information display and give out free saplings.

This is a major fundraiser for the Redding Garden Club and supports its civic beautification projects, which include planting and maintaining almost two-dozen public gardens in town.
