MCC Students Provide Tooth Treatments at a Reduced Cost
LOWELL -- The Middlesex Community College Dental Hygiene Clinic, located at 44 Middle St., Lowell, provides preventive dental-hygiene services to the public at a reduced cost.
From September through May, MCCs on-campus clinic offers oral prophylaxis (cleaning), dental sealants, X-rays and athletic mouth protectors.
Fall-semester hours are Wednesdays, from 8:30 a.m. to noon, and from 1 to 5 p.m., and Fridays, from 1 to 5 p.m.
Patients accepted for treatment are those whose dental problems have teaching value and who have the extra time required for treatment.
Call 978-656-3250 to make an appointment. Appointments must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance.
Dental Hygiene students at MCC provide direct patient care. The students have extensive education and training, and have demonstrated competence in clinical services before treating the public. The clinic is supervised by licensed dental hygienists and dentists.
