Two Charged In Robbery Of Island’s Only Bank
TILGHMAN ISLAND, Md. (AP) _ The FBI has charged two Eastern Shore men in what may have been the first bank robbery in this tiny island community’s history, a spokesman said.
Andrew Manning, an FBI spokesman in Baltimore, said Tuesday that one of two men being sought in the Jan. 4 robbery at the Maryland National Bank branch here had been arrested.
Christopher David Brown, 30, was arrested Monday at his New Market home, and was held in lieu of $50,000 bond at the Wicomico County Jail in Salisbury, Manning said.
The bank, which is the only one on the Eastern Shore island, was robbed by two masked men who escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash, Manning said.
The FBI has also issued a warrant for a 30-year-old Hurlock man, who is believed to have been Brown’s accomplice, Manning said.
