Christmas Village to usher in holiday season in Florence

November 29, 2018

FLORENCE, S.C. — Hundreds of Florence residents will gather at First Reliance Bank on Saturday for a time of celebration as they ring in the holiday season.

First Reliance Bank will host its annual Christmas Village from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the 2170 W. Palmetto St. location.

Attendees will have a chance to visit with more than a dozen different holiday vendors, take free pictures with Santa Claus and play on giant inflatables.

Thomas C. Ewart, market president for the Florence branch, said the event is a way for the bank to celebrate the Christmas season with its customers.

“We are a local community bank that enjoys the festivities of what Christmas is all about,” Ewart said. “We want to celebrate with our customers and provide this event where they can just have a good time. It’s also great to see local businesses enjoying themselves and being able to show what they have to offer.”

There will also be a food truck on site and Southern Scratch Bakery will be selling holiday treats, including cake jars, cookies, cake slices, whole cakes and much more.

Pets are welcome.

“It’ll be a good day,” Ewart said. “It’s just a festive time. My favorite part is seeing the little ones get to see Santa Claus. It just warms the heart to see the smiles on their faces.”

First Reliance will also have pictures with Santa Claus at its West Palmetto location Monday from 3 to 7 p.m. for those who are unable to attend the event Saturday.
