Elk, moose, bighorn sheep license applications due Wednesday
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — North Dakota hunters who want to pursue elk, moose or bighorn sheep this year have only one more day to apply for a license.
The state Game and Fish Department says Wednesday is the application deadline for the 2019 seasons.
The status of the bighorn sheep season will be determined Sept. 1, after summer population surveys are completed. Bighorn sheep applications must still be submitted before the Wednesday deadline, however.
Moose, elk and bighorn sheep licenses are issued as once-in-a-lifetime licenses in North Dakota.
In 2018, hunter success was 100 percent for bighorn sheep, 92 percent for moose and 65 percent for elk.
