Mr. And Mrs. Walter Shiner
Walter and Anne Shiner, West Abington Twp., celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Friday. They were married Sept. 7, 1968, in Our Lady of the Abingtons Church, Dalton, by the Rev. William Hiner.
They were attended by Robert Shiner, brother of the bridegroom; Marjorie Cours Faraday, sister of the bride; Susan James Antoine, cousin of the bride; Joseph, James and Paul Cours, brothers of the bride; Marie Sandy Kowalski; Ann Garvey McGraft; and Anthony Falkowski and Edward Rothka, cousins of the bridegroom.
Mrs. Shiner is the former Ann Cours, daughter of the late Remi and Gertrude Cours. She was a homemaker.
Mr. Shiner is the son of the late Helen and Walter Shiner Sr. He is a Navy veteran, having served four years. Prior to retirement, he worked at Tobyhanna Army Depot for 35 years.
Mr. and Mrs. Shiner run an antique business.
The couple has five children, Michael and wife, Lori, Jermyn; Laurie Shirey and husband, Steve, Pleasant Gap; Mark and wife, Jessa, Simpsonville, South Carolina; Brian and wife, Vanessa, Lincoln, California; and Daniel and wife, Jennifer, Bushkill. They also have nine grandchildren, Brooke, Summer, Amber, Morgan, McKenzie, Hailey, Luke, Alyssa and Veronica.
They marked the occasion with a family reunion with all of their children and grandchildren.
