Kansas St. 76, No. 15 Texas Tech 68

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) _ Kayla Hester scored 11 points, including a pair of 3-pointers in a crucial opening run, as Kansas State upset No. 15 Texas Tech 76-68 on Wednesday in the quarterfinals of the Big 12 Tournament.

Kansas State (18-10) will face in-state rival No. 9 Kansas on Thursday in the semifinals.

Alicia Thompson scored the first basket of the game for Texas Tech (19-8). But the Wildcats responded with a 15-0 burst and led the rest of the way.

The Lady Raiders pulled to within 36-29 at halftime, then closed within four, 42-38, with 16:37 left. But Andria Jones scored twice in a 7-0 run for Kansas State to keep the game out of reach.

Jones paced the Wildcats with 20 points. Missy Decker finished with 18, and Brit Jacobson added 16 points and 10 assists. All of Hester’s points came in the first half.

Thompson led all scorers with 26 points. Rene Hannebutt added 20 and Julie Lake had 14.
