Driver Crashes Into Jewish Community Center

An elderly female driver crashed a green four-door Honda on Thursday afternoon into the Jewish Community Center in Scranton. She was not injured, according to a Lackawanna County Communications supervisor.

The car shattered glass windows on the office entrance of the building, where the United Way of Lackawanna and Wayne counties and the Scranton Area Foundation rent space.

Operations will continue as normal at the center at 615 Jefferson Ave., said Dan Cardonick, JCC executive director. Mesko Glass & Mirror was scheduled to begin repairs Thursday, he added.
