COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) _ Kim Brandle scored 18 points and Kim Brungardt added 15 points and 13 rebounds, leading Southern Methodist to a 78-75 victory Wednesday night over No. 20 Texas A&M.

The Lady Aggies (13-5, 4-2 Southwest Conference) had a school-record, 17-game home winning streak snapped.

A&M trailed 42-27 at halftime, but Martha McClelland led a second-half comeback and capped by her short jumper that cut the deficit to 76-75 with 35.8 seconds left.

But Mary Gleason hit two free throws for the Lady Mustangs (12-7, 3-4) then time ran out as A&M guard Lisa Branch missed a shot.

SMU, which used an 18-0 first-half run to take control early, also got 14 points and six assists from Jennifer McLaughlin, 13 points from Mary Gleason and 12 points from Alexa Devine.

McClelland led A&M with 24 points and Branch added 21 points and 11 rebounds.
