Body of Man Who Drowned Trying To Save Dog Recovered
LEWISTON, N.Y. (AP) _ Divers found the body of a man who broke through the ice and drowned in a lake while trying to retrieve his dog.
The body of Robert Raisig, 30, of Ransomville, was found Sunday in 20 feet of water in Lake Meyers, in a park 20 miles north of Buffalo.
Raisig and the dog, Grizzly, had been walking in the park Saturday. Grizzly ran onto the frozen lake to chase geese, and Raisig broke through the ice while trying to retrieve the dog, police said.
The dog made it to shore safely, police said.
