UNDATED (AP) — David Price and the Red Sox try for a sweep of the Yankees when they wrap a four-game series at Fenway Park tonight. Price hopes to make up for a miserable outing the last time he faced the Yankees, when he allowed a career-worst five homers in an 11-1 loss July 1. Masahiro Tanaka starts for the Yankees, who have lost a season-high four in a row. Boston is 8 1/2 games ahead of New York for the AL East. The teams play six more times in September.

CLEVELAND (AP) — Mike Trout is missing his fourth straight game with a nagging wrist injury, and that’s not the only thing ailing the Angels. Rookie Deck McGuire is pitching for Los Angeles today in Cleveland after scheduled starter Tyler Skaggs went on the disabled list with a strained hip muscle. The Indians are also starting a rookie, Shane Bieber. Cleveland catcher Yan Gomes is dealing with hamstring tendinitis and is expected to be out of the starting lineup for several games.

CLEVELAND (AP) — Los Angeles Angels manager Mike Scioscia (SOH’-shuh) is dismissing a report that he’s stepping down after this season, calling it “just chatter” and “poppycock.” He says it’s not true and he has “no idea” where the report originated. Scioscia has managed the Angels since 2000 and is under contract only through this season. He says he won’t talk about his future with the club until the season ends.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Right-hander Tanner Roark starts for Washington today when the Nationals conclude their four-game series against Cincinnati. Roark has won his last two starts. The Reds start righty Luis Castillo, who allowed six earned runs over five innings in Cincinnati’s 13-7 home loss to Washington on March 31. Nationals star Bryce Harper might be hobbled after getting hit in the right knee by a curveball last night.

WESTFIELD, Ind. (AP) — Andrew Luck could be missing his blind-side protector in Thursday night’s preseason opener at Seattle. Left tackle Anthony Castonzo didn’t practice today and coach Frank Reich (ryk) says he is expected to miss “some time” after apparently re-injuring his right hamstring in Friday night’s practice.
