Buffalo at Pittsburgh (7 p.m. EST). Pittsburgh star Jaromir Jagr, sidelined for four games by a groin injury, scored the winning goal Saturday night in the Penguins’ 4-3 overtime victory over the New York Rangers.



_ Peter Bondra, Capitals, had two goals and an assist as Washington beat Florida 5-2 to extend its road winning streak to four games.

_ Nelson Emerson, Hurricanes, capped a three-goal comeback when he tipped in Geoff Sanderson’s 30-foot blast with 5:24 remaining to give Carolina a 3-3 tie with visiting Calgary.

_ Stephane Fiset, Kings, made 37 saves in Los Angeles’ 2-1 victory over his former Colorado teammates.


A crowd of 5,516 attended Carolina’s game with Calgary on Sunday night at Greensboro, N.C. Two nights earlier, the Hurricanes drew 19,358 for Wayne Gretzky and the New York Rangers.


Florida (7-12-4) dropped its fourth consecutive game at home and has a five-game winless streak at Miami Arena, after Sunday night’s 5-2 loss to the Washington Capitals. The Panthers have won only two games at home this season, the last coming against Washington on Nov. 9.
