Norfolk man arrested after making sexual comments online to girl

NORFOLK - Back on August 3rd Norfolk Police took the report of possible electronic enticement of a minor.

According to Captain Mike Bauer a 12-year-old girl was attempting to sell a swimsuit on Facebook and was contacted by an adult man.

The juvenile reported this to her mother and the mother took over the text conversation with the man.

During the subsequent text conversation, the man offered to come to the juveniles’ house and bring marijuana.

He also offered her to come to his place to have a drink and “to see what happens” along with additional sexual comments.

The man’s Facebook account identified him as 24-year-old Zachariah Andrews of Norfolk.

Investigators worked with Facebook to preserve evidence of the message conversation.

Wednesday Norfolk detectives located Andrews and spoke to him about the incident.

At the conclusion of the investigation, he was arrested for Sexual Assault - Use of Electronic Communication Device.

He was housed in the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail.
