Traffic stop leads to meth, counterfeit cash
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department has reported one of its deputies made a patrol stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation in the town of Hebron Thursday and in the process the department recovered $18,615 in counterfeit money and 4.590 grams of methamphetamine.
After making the stop, the deputy requested assistance. The department’s canine unit and Jefferson County Drug Task Force responded to the scene.
As a result of the stop, a 38-year-old woman from Manitowoc was arrested for uttering and forgery, along with possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. She remains in custody in the Jefferson County Jail pending an initial appearance later today.
The investigation is ongoing, according to the sheriff’s department.
