Wendy Martinez stabbing: Suspect arrested

A suspect was reportedly arrested on Thursday in relation to the fatal stabbing of Wendy Martinez Tuesday evening.

Local WTOP first reported the arrest.

Ms. Martinez was jogging around 8 p.m. in Logan circle when she was attacked. She made it to a nearby Chinese restaurant, Mr. Wu’s, where customers tried to save her life, but she was pronounced dead later that evening.

The Police Department was offering up to $25,000 to anyone with information that could help find the suspect, who was captured on video.

D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser and Police Chief Peter Newsham will hold a press conference to update the public on the investigation to Mr. Martinez’s homicide. It will be held at the corner of 11th St. NW and P Street Nw, near the scene of the crime.
