State Police: Dead man found on side of Conn. highway
State Police said a man’s body was found early Tuesday morning on Route 2 in East Hartford.
At around 3:30 a.m., state police from Troop H- Hartford were dispatched to the westbound, Exit 4 off ramp after reports of a suspicious incident.
“According to passersby, it was indicated that an individual was lying in the travel portion of the roadway. Upon the arrival off troopers, it was determined that a black male was lying in the right shoulder of the off ramp, partially in the travel lane,” troopers said early Wednesday morning.
Paramedics were dispatched to the scene who confirmed the male was deceased.
Detectives from Western District Major Crimes Squad are currently on scene to assist in this suspicious death investigation.
This area of Route 2 Westbound is expected to be closed for the next few hours.
Use alternate routes if traveling in or around this area.
