Candidates set for Fort Bend ISD election
The candidates have all filed, now on Tuesday, March 5, they will find out where they fit on the ballot for the 2019 Fort Bend ISD board of trustees election, slated for May 4.
For Position 3 trustee, incumbent Jim Rice will face three challengers, including Sam Popuri, Ashish Agrawal and Afshi Charania.
For Position 7, incumbent Dave Rosenthal will face six challengers. They include Christine (Tina) Michie, Rudy Sutherland Jr., Ferrel Bonner, Nadine B. Skinner, Monica Riley and Holland Poulsen.
A special election is being held to fill Position 5, formerly held by Trustee KP George, who won the race for Fort Bend County judge in November 2018. George stepped down from his Fort Bend ISD seat to take over duties at county judge.
The candidates to fill Position 5 on the ballot include Cynthia Lenton Gary, Jason A. Dobrolecki, Pam D. Sutherland, Lily Q. Lam and Allison Drew.
On Thursday, March 21, the candidates are scheduled to meet at 4 p.m. with Superintendent Charles E. Dupre at the FBISD Administration Building, 16431 Lexington Blvd. in Sugar Land.
Early voting for the election is scheduled to start on April 22. The last day to apply for a ballot by mail is April 23. Early voting ends April 30.
