Man convicted of criminal endangerment in Montana death
POLSON, Mont. (AP) — A Montana man who was accused of throwing a woman out of a moving truck leading to her death has been convicted of criminal endangerment.
The Missoulian reports Joseph Conko Parizeau entered an Alford plea to the single charge Wednesday.
An Alford plea acknowledges prosecutors have enough evidence to convict without the defendant admitting guilt.
Parizeau had been charged with one count of negligent homicide and three counts of witness tampering in the death of Cassandra Harris. She was found gravely injured near McDonald Lake in June.
Lake County Attorney Steve Eschenbacher amended the charges against Parizeau due to concerns that medical evidence couldn’t conclusively prove that Harris had died by falling out of the truck.
Parizeau is scheduled to be sentenced Jan. 30.
