Jackson Hole could get community college campus

July 23, 2019

JACKSON, Wyo. (AP) — A town in western Wyoming could soon get a community college campus.

The State Building Commission recently approved a state funding match of $7.6 million to build a campus of Central Wyoming College in Jackson.

The $15.1 million project would make it easier for people in the Jackson area to attend the community college based in Riverton.

The Jackson Hole News & Guide reports the Wyoming Community College Commission has named the Jackson campus its top funding priority for next year’s legislative session.

College officials plan to build the campus south of town, near Jackson Hole High School.

Voters in 2017 approved $3.8 million in specific purpose excise tax funds for the project, which would count toward the state match.
