Larksville Man Faces Charges Following Crash

August 9, 2018

LARKSVILLE — A borough man is facing charges following a hit-and-run crash that knocked out power, according to police.

Officers were dispatched to the area of Cardinal Drive around 3:45 a.m. Tuesday to a report of a power outage, and discovered a vehicle had hit a ground transformer box at Falcon and Cardinal drives.

The driver fled the scene, leaving a trail of fluid police followed to Garfield Street, where they found the bumper and grill of a silver Subaru in the middle of the road, according to police.

Police eventually tracked the vehicle, which had extensive front-end damage, to a garage on Bartels Street in Edwardsville. Officers found Larksville resident James Stephens in the area, and police say he admitted being the driver who fled the scene of the crash.

Police said Stephens’ driver’s license is suspended and the vehicle had no license plate, inspection or insurance. Officers issued Stephens multiple traffic citations, police said.
