College of New Jersey wins 100th consecutive women’s lacrosse game
EWING TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) _ The College of New Jersey women’s lacrosse team scored its 100th consecutive win Tuesday, defeating Millersville 19-8.
The Lions are riding the NCAA’s longest active win streak. Their last loss was on April 13, 1991, when Ithaca beat them 5-4.
With the win over Millersville, a Division II opponent, TCNJ finished its regular season with a record of 12-0.
Senior tri-captain Melanie Vasofski of Southampton, N.J., paced the Lions with five goals and three assists. Vasofski now has a total of 59 goals and eight assists on the season.
Megan Tropp (Merchantville, N.J.) also had five goals for TCNJ. TCNJ outshot Millersville 37-19.
