CHICAGO (AP) — The Chicago Cubs have claimed veteran catcher Rene Rivera off waivers from the New York Mets.
The 34-year-old Rivera is known for his defensive skills. He has thrown out 10 of 31 runners attempting to steal this season. He is batting .230 with eight homers and 23 RBIs in 54 games.
Conley scores 36 as Grizzlies rout Pacers 110-97
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — Mike Conley wanted to set the tone for the Memphis Grizzlies.
He succeeded, in a big way.
Conley matched his career high with seven 3-pointers on his way to 36 points, helping the Grizzlies rout the Indiana Pacers 110-97 on Wednesday night.
Memphis (41-34) had lost four in a row, all on the road.
Mirotic, Wade lead Bulls over Pacers 90-85 to snap skid at
CHICAGO (AP) — Less than two weeks after falling out of the rotation for a couple of games, Nikola Mirotic is playing again and proving his worth to the Chicago Bulls.
Dwyane Wade scored 21 points, Mirotic added a season-high 20 — including a key basket down the stretch — and Chicago survived a poor shooting performance for a 90-85 victory over the Indiana Pacers Monday night to snap a three-game losing streak.

CHICAGO (AP) — Dwyane Wade scored 21 points, Nikola Mirotic added a season-high 20 and the Chicago Bulls survived a poor shooting performance for a 90-85 victory over the Indiana Pacers Monday night to snap a three-game losing streak.
Jimmy Butler had 16 points despite making only 3 of 12 field-goal attempts. Chicago, which had dropped nine of 12, was 32-for-83 (38.6 percent) from the field for the game.
Aaron Brooks had a season-high 19 points to lead the Pacers, who have lost three straight.

Cubs put starter Lackey, reliever Rondon on disabled list
DENVER (AP) — The Chicago Cubs have put pitcher John Lackey on the 15-day disabled list because of strained right shoulder.
The Cubs made a series of moves Friday before their scheduled game in Colorado.
The 37-year-old Lackey has made 24 starts this year in his first season with the NL Central leaders. He is 9-7 with a 3.41 ERA.
