Miami (Ohio) beats NAIA-member 91-42 in tune-up for Bahamas
OXFORD, Ohio (AP) — Nike Sibande scored 21 points and Dalonte Brown added 18 and Miami (Ohio) cruised to a 91-42 victory over NAIA-member Midway on Monday night.
Miami (1-1) bounced back from a 22-point loss at Butler in its season opener on Saturday. The RedHawks will begin The Islands of the Bahamas Showcase in Nassau for a three-game series beginning on Friday.
Edgar Jr., Leonard score 21 apiece; UC Irvine beats Cal Poly
SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. (AP) — John Edgar Jr. and Evan Leonard scored 21 points apiece to help UC Irvine beat Cal Poly 75-58 on Saturday night.
Edgar made 9 of 14 from the field and grabbed seven rebounds, while Leonard made three 3-pointers and finished 7-of-13 shooting overall. Eyassu Worku added 10 points and eight assists for UC Irvine (14-15, 9-4 Big West). The Anteaters remain tied with UC Davis for second in the conference standings, a half-game behind UC Santa Barbara.
Ahmad, Allman lead CS Fullerton past Cal Poly 75-59
FULLERTON, Calif. (AP) — Khalil Ahmad scored 22 points and Kyle Allman scored 14 and Cal State Fullerton controlled Cal Poly throughout for a 75-59 win on Thursday night.
The Titans raced to a 7-0 lead before Donovan Fields scored 10 points of 16-6 run for Cal Poly. Ahmad and Alman then teamed up for 17 points in a 19-1 run and the Titans led 37-22 at the break.
