FRISCO, Texas (AP) — Ohio running back A.J. Ouellette doesn't think of Frank Solich as the oldest head coach in FBS. He sees him as the guy who stuck around a smaller program long enough to run it for going on 15 years.
Ouellette gave Solich and the Bobcats a little something to build on in his final game.

No. 25 Iowa State hosts K-State in Big 12 finale
AMES, Iowa (AP) — Iowa State knocked itself out of the Big 12 title game chase with a dispiriting loss last week at Texas.
The No. 25 Cyclones now look to bounce back by ending a surprisingly long losing skid against Kansas State — and finish with its best record in the Big 12.
Iowa State (6-4, 5-3 Big 12) has dropped 10 straight against the Wildcats (5-6, 3-5), a brutal stretch capped by a 20-19 loss last year in Manhattan after K-State scored a touchdown on the game's final play.
Status of most Big 12 coaches not in air even with KU change
David Beaty has already been replaced at Kansas as he gets ready to coach his final game with the Jayhawks.

No. 8 Oklahoma wary of Kansas State
NORMAN, Okla. (AP) — Oklahoma coach Lincoln Riley doesn't care about Kansas State's losing record.
He cares about the Wildcats' last game.
Riley saw plenty to worry about in Kansas State's 31-12 win over Oklahoma State two weeks ago. The Wildcats looked like a typical Bill Snyder-coached team, rushing for 291 yards on 55 carries. Riley feels his eighth-ranked Sooners (6-1, 3-1 Big 12) are in for a battle on Saturday.
K-State back to work after bye week with Oklahoma on deck

Put another way, the Longhorns are on their third head coach since their last win there.
Kansas, K-State trying to find footing as Big 12 rolls on
LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) — The prevailing thought surrounding Kansas last week was that the Jayhawks had finally turned the corner, and a lopsided win over a fellow Power Five school in Rutgers was proof coach David Beaty was making progress in his vast rebuilding job.

K-State faces QB questions as Mississippi State looms
MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) — Kansas State coach Bill Snyder probably felt pretty good about having two quarterbacks with starting experience this year, especially the way both performed at times last season.
After Skylar Thompson and Alex Delton both struggled against South Dakota, though, that confidence is a bit shakier heading into Saturday's showdown with No. 18 Mississippi State.
Kansas State scores 2 late TDs, edges South Dakota 27-24
MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) — Saturday night's game was not going the way most Kansas State fans, players and coaches had anticipated. Fans were booing the offense and making a quick exit, not just in fear of seeing a season-opening upset, but mostly in sheer disgust at the way things were going.

Barnes exits spring confident, atop RB depth chart
If Bill Snyder doesn’t agree with an evaluation, he’ll let you know.
Kansas State’s offense provided plenty of highlights Saturday. The defense, while “porous” at times in head coach Bill Snyder’s words, still had decent performances from multiple players.
The Wildcats’ special team play was another story.
A unit that lost every significant piece from last season struggled mightily during the Purple/White Game. K-State is facing a complete overhaul in every position within that unit heading into next season.
Delton, Thompson light it up in Kansas State spring game
MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) — Kansas State coach Bill Snyder wanted to see his offense operating at a tidy clip when his team split into purple and white squads for its spring game.

Delton wound up 21 of 28 for 201 yards and three touchdowns, and ran six times for 34 yards. Thompson was 13 of 19 for 149 yards and a TD.
Competition abounds as K-State readies for spring game
MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) — Kansas State returns 14 starters from a team that won eight games and beat UCLA in the Cactus Bowl, including its top quarterback and the entire offensive line, so it stands to reason that few jobs would be available in spring camp.
