NEW YORK (AP) — Broadcaster CBS is pushing the boundaries — gently — next season, as it and other networks navigate the rise of streaming. A change-of pace sitcom from "The Big Bang Theory"...
Emmy nominated actor, comedian, Swissvale native and Steelers superfan Billy Gardell will appear on Nov. 17 in the Benedum Center in downtown Pittsburgh.
Gardell's standup show, with its "grounded, down-to-earth point of view strikes a strong chord with American audiences. Stories about his rough childhood, wild adolescence and new family life are executed with the skill of a master craftsman," according to a release.
‘Mike & Molly’ star Billy Gardell brings stand-up show to Ridgefield
When it comes to Connecticut, Billy Gardell is aiming to go “three for three” — as in three very successful visits to the Nutmeg state.
“Connecticut has been very good to me over the last year,” he said, referring to a University of Connecticut stand-up performance and the filming of a Lifetime movie, “A Very Merry Toy Store,” in the Hartford area that debuted in November (with Melissa Joan Hart and Brian Dennehy).
“Mike & Molly,” “Sun Records” star Billy Gardell returns to his stand up roots
For six years, Billy Gardell answered to “Mike,” as in Officer Mike Biggs, the character he played on the CBS sitcom “Mike & Molly” alongside Melissa McCarthy as Molly.
Earlier this year, Gardell went by Colonel, starring in the CMT miniseries “Sun Records” as Colonel Tom Parker, Elvis Presley’s manager.
But before he was the Colonel, and before he was Mike, the actor was Billy Gardell, stand-up comedian.
