Nebraska man found dead in car in Kansas
CLAY CENTER, Kan. (AP) — Kansas authorities say a Nebraska man who was reported missing earlier this week was found dead in his car.
Clay County Sheriff Chuck Dunn says the body of 66-year-old Rick Kubes, of Auburn, Nebraska, was discovered Wednesday evening about 3 miles (4.83 kilometers) north of Clay Center on Kansas 15.
Dunn says an official cause of death hasn't been determined but it appeared Kubes had a medical issue because his vehicle had drifted off the road.

Nurse sentenced for Medicaid fraud in 3 Kansas counties
TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) — A 57-year-old nurse has been sentenced to nearly two years in prison for Medicaid fraud and related charges in three Kansas counties.
Kathleen Kleuskens, of Ogden, was sentenced Thursday in Pottawatomie County to 21 months in prison. Earlier this month, she was sentenced to 20 months in Clay County and 21 months in Geary County. The sentences will run concurrently.

CLAY CENTER, Kan. (AP) — A group of Kansas pranksters are finally coming clean right before the 50-year anniversary of a high school finding a mysterious hole through its roof.
Richard Klocke and his friends fired a small cannon full of gunpowder near Clay Center Community High School for the Fourth of July in 1968, the Kansas City Star reported .
Clay Center man dies in north-central Kansas crash
CLAY CENTER, Kan. (AP) — A Clay Center man has died in a single-car crash in north-central Kansas.
The Topeka Capital-Journal reports that 49-year-old John Robert Linn died when the car he was driving overturned near Clay Center around 4 p.m. Thursday.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says Linn was driving westbound on Broughton Road when he came up upon slower traffic, swerved and lost control. The patrol says his car entered the north ditch and overturned.

Officials: 6 children injured in holiday trolley crash
CLAY CENTER, Neb. (AP) — Clay County sheriff's officials say six children have been injured in a crash involving a holiday trolley at Clay Center.
Clay County Sheriff Jeff Franklin told television station KSNB that the crash occurred when the trolley hit an SUV just before 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Clay County fairgrounds.

Gladys Kay (Bratt) Salts, 74, of Clay Center, Kan. passed away on Oct. 25, 2017. She was born on Nov. 29, 1942, in Humboldt, Neb. to Raymond and Lillian (Terhune) Bratt.
