PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Charlie Brown Jr. scored 20 points and Saint Joseph's held on late to beat Massachusetts 64-62 on Saturday afternoon.
Lorenzo Edwards added 14 points for the Hawks (10-12, 3-6 Atlantic 10 Conference). Jared Bynum had 10 points and Taylor Funk led the team with 12 rebounds and finished with eight points.
Luwane Pipkins lifts UMass over Providence 79-78
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Luwane Pipkins scored 26 points, including the go-ahead layup with 10 seconds remaining, and Massachusetts defeated Providence 79-78 on Friday night.
Curtis Cobb and Carl Pierre added 16 and 15 points, respectively, as the three starting guards for UMass (6-4) combined for 57 points.
Alpha Diallo led Providence with 21 points and backup center Nate Watson added 14 points.

AMHERST, Mass. (AP) — Luwane Pipkins scored 20 points with seven assists, Curtis Cobb added 13 with eight rebounds and Massachusetts defeated Quinnipiac 69-62 Wednesday night.
Carl Pierre scored 12 points and Rashaan Holloway tied a career high with 13 rebounds for UMass (5-3), which shot 45 percent from the floor (25 of 56) while holding Quinnipiac to 30-percent shooting (18 of 60).
UMass routs Arkansas-Pine Bluff, 92-60, en route to Vegas
AMHERST, Mass. (AP) — Curtis Cobb scored 17 points and led four players in double-figure scoring as UMass bounced back from consecutive home court losses with a rout of winless Arkansas-Pine Bluff in a Las Vegas Holiday Invitational Tournament campus game Monday night.
The Minutemen, who played their first five games at home, now head to Las Vegas for two tournament games.
Holloway leads hot-shooting Massachusetts over New Hampshire
AMHERST, Mass. (AP) — Rashaan Holloway scored 18 on 9-of-11 shooting and Massachusetts made 67 percent of its shots to beat New Hampshire 104-75 on Friday night.
The Minutemen (2-0) opened with a 16-4 run, led 56-29 at the break and had their largest lead at 93-57 with 4:58 left in the game.

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) — Tyler Nelson scored 16 points, including the go-ahead jumper with 1:12 remaining, and Fairfield rebounded from a slim halftime deficit to defeat Rider on Monday night to complete a season sweep of the Broncs.
Rider led 41-37 at halftime but Fairfield scored the first five of the second and the game remained close the rest of the way, with neither side holding a lead larger than six.

Cobb hit 9 of 12 3-point shots and was 16 of 23 overall from the field. Cobb drilled six 3-pointers in the first half as the Stags built a 54-33 lead. He now has scored 20 or more points five times this season.
