LH reliever Zach Duke signs 1-year deal with Reds
GOODYEAR, Ariz. (AP) — Zach Duke has signed a $2 million, one-year deal with the Cincinnati Reds, who wanted a left-hander for the bullpen.
Duke agreed to the deal last week. It was completed Monday after he passed a physical.
Cincinnati overhauled its rotation and starting lineup in the offseason through a series of trades, hoping to become a contender. The bullpen already was solid with the additions of Jared Hughes and David Hernandez last season to set up closer Raisel Iglesias.

CINCINNATI (AP) — The Cincinnati Reds are working to complete a deal with Zach Duke that would add the left-hander to their bullpen, a person familiar with the discussions told The Associated Press.
The person spoke on condition of anonymity Friday because the deal, first reported by The Athletic, was subject to a successful physical and has not been completed. The Reds have not commented.

Reliever David Hernandez, Reds agree to $5M, 2-year deal
CINCINNATI (AP) — Despite pitching in the playoffs last season, reliever David Hernandez worried that he would wind up having to settle for another minor league contract and an invitation to some team's big league training camp next month. The Cincinnati Reds surprised him by offering a $5 million, two-year deal.
"It all kind of happened quickly, which is weird," Hernandez said Tuesday after the deal was announced.
Angels acquire hard-throwing reliever Felix Pena from Cubs
ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) — The Los Angeles Angels have acquired right-handed reliever Felix Pena from the Chicago Cubs in exchange for cash or a player to be named later.
The Angels announced the deal Monday for Pena, who was designated for assignment by Chicago last week.
Los Angeles also designated left-hander Jason Gurka for assignment.
Sano homers twice as Twins pound D-backs 10-3
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Miguel Sano ended a tough stretch at the plate with some might.
Sano hit two of the Twins' season high-tying six home runs, including an inside-the-park dash by Byron Buxton, and Minnesota powered past the Arizona Diamondbacks 10-3 on Friday night.
Eduardo Escobar, Max Kepler and Brian Dozier also went deep for Minnesota. Buxton finished a single shy of the cycle.

PHOENIX (AP) — Jake Lamb hit his second career grand slam in the seventh inning and the Arizona Diamondbacks rallied to beat Los Angeles 6-3 on Tuesday night, handing the major league-leading Dodgers their eighth loss in the last 52 games.
Lamb, who also connected for a solo homer in the sixth, was hitting .143 against left-handers this season when he drove Tony Watson's 1-2 pitch off the right-field foul pole to put Arizona up 6-3.
CHICAGO (AP) — The Arizona Diamondbacks said hello to an old friend on Tuesday.
Reliever David Hernandez rejoined the team after he was acquired in a trade with the Los Angeles Angels. The right-hander played for the Diamondbacks for four seasons before he signed with Philadelphia as a free agent in December 2015.
Atlanta Braves set 25-man roster for opening day
ATLANTA (AP) — The Braves set their opening day roster by recalling catcher Anthony Recker to fill out the bench and assigning right-handed pitcher David Hernandez to Triple-A Gwinnett.
The team made the announcement Sunday, one day before they open the season at the New York Mets.
Recker's promotion means the Braves will carry five bench players, at least in the early weeks, when they have multiple off days.
