Arizona hires former NFL player DeMarco Murray as assistant
TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) — Arizona has hired former NFL player DeMarco Murray as its running backs coach.
The school announced the addition to Kevin Sumlin's staff on Friday.
Murray was recruited by and played for Sumlin at Oklahoma and joins the Wildcats after seven NFL seasons with Dallas, Philadelphia and Tennessee. He rushed for 7,174 yards and had 2,165 receiving yards before retiring last summer.

DeMarco Murray is retiring from the NFL.
The 2014 Offensive Player of the Year made the announcement on ESPN on Friday, four months after being released by the Tennessee Titans.

NEW YORK (AP) — Tennessee could be without starting running back DeMarco Murray next week when it tried to clinch a playoff spot.
Murray injured his right knee with 2:23 left in the game against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday. Coach Mike Mularkey said his running back will have an MRI, but it doesn't look good.
The Rams lost left guard Rodger Saffold to a rib injury late in the game. Los Angeles safety Marqui Christian also hurt a shoulder.

Titans promote Jon Robinson to executive vice president/GM
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — The Tennessee Titans have promoted Jon Robinson to executive vice president/general manager.
Robinson was hired as general manager last year and made a variety of moves that helped the Titans improve from 3-13 in 2015 to 9-7 this season.
He traded out of the No. 1 position in last year's draft to add more picks and also acquired running back DeMarco Murray, who led the AFC with 1,287 yards rushing.
