MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) — Kansas State cornerback Duke Shelley was arrested this week for failure to appear and released after paying a $500 bond, though his status for this weekend's game against Kansas remains in question.
A school spokesman said any punishment will be handled internally.

K-State secondary scheming for Iowa State’s Lazard
The most lopsided mismatch at Bill Snyder Family Stadium will be between Allen Lazard, Iowa State’s 6-foot-5 wide receiver, and the undersized Kansas State secondary.
Lazard, who hauls in nearly five receptions per game, has the hands to secure easy passes and the height to help him with the more difficult ones. Among the Big 12’s top receivers, he’s the tallest, with nine touchdowns — including scores in four of the Cyclones’ last five contests — to show for it.

STILLWATER — Mason Rudolph uncorked a long pass down the middle of the field. James Washington tracked it as he crested from his position on the right side of the formation toward the pass.
It’s an Oklahoma State play that, week after week, leads to success and breaks the back of the defense.
Saturday, the ball was a little long, the coverage was good, and Duke Shelley intercepted it for Kansas State.

MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) — The school that once produced Chris Canty and Thorpe Award winner Terence Newman has struggled to defend in recent years in the pass-happy Big 12.
It still draws Kansas State coach Bill Snyder's ire.
Wildcats shut down Texas Tech in second half for 44-38 win
MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) — Elijah Lee and the rest of the Kansas State defense trudged to the locker room at halftime against Texas Tech on Saturday night fortunate to be ahead.
Then, the Wildcats made a solemn vow.
"Second half," the veteran linebacker said, with sternness to his voice, "we had the mindset that they can't do to us what they did to us in the first half."
