GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) — Eloy Jimenez says he doesn't feel the pressure of expectations. Not even when fellow Chicago White Sox prospect Michael Kopech said he thinks Jimenez is "the Babe Ruth of our generation."
"Yeah, he told me that in Triple-A," Jimenez said Saturday. "I feel proud and blessed and I think he is the (next) Nolan Ryan."
Kopech's time will have to wait a year, when the right-hander expects to return from Tommy John surgery. But Jimenez is coming soon to the South Side.

Cubs exercise $10.5 million option for 2019 on Quintana
CHICAGO (AP) — The Cubs have exercised their $10.5 million option on pitcher Jose Quintana.
The 29-year-old left-hander was 13-11 with a 4.03 ERA in 32 starts in his first full season with the Cubs. He was acquired from the White Sox in July 2017 as part of a deal in which they sent two top prospects to their crosstown rivals: pitcher Dylan Cease and outfielder Eloy Jimenez.
Quintana's deal had a $1 million buyout. It also includes an $11.5 million option for 2020 with a $1 million buyout.
White Sox put OF Leury Garcia on DL
CHICAGO (AP) — The Chicago White Sox placed outfielder Leury Garcia on the 10-day disabled list on Monday with a left hamstring strain.
The White Sox also optioned catcher Dustin Garneau to Triple-A Charlotte before their series opener against the New York Yankees. Catcher Kevan Smith was activated from the paternity list, and outfielder Ryan LaMarre was brought up from Charlotte.

CHICAGO (AP) — For a brief moment on Tuesday, Yoan Moncada and Eloy Jimenez were reunited in the home clubhouse for the Chicago White Sox.
Moncada was activated from the 10-day disabled list before Chicago's 9-4 loss to Cleveland, and Jimenez visited with the club after another solid year in the minors. While Moncada is learning his way around the majors and Jimenez is a work in progress, the promising sluggers were looking forward to joining forces again at some point soon.
The Thursday before the second half of the Major League Baseball season is supposed to be the slowest sports day of the calendar year, though Wimbledon being moved a week later this year changes that a little.
But still, who expected Chicago’s baseball teams to take over the national sports spotlight on a normally boring day.
