Firm to shut down Pennsylvania plant, affecting 210 jobs
WASHINGTON, Pa. (AP) — An international chemical company has announced plans to shut down a western Pennsylvania plant, cutting about 160 jobs and relocating 50 more.
Ferro Corp. said Friday the Canton Township plant in Washington County that produces functional coatings and color solutions will close in late 2019 or early 2020.

MAYFIELD HEIGHTS, Ohio (AP) _ Ferro Corp. (FOE) on Thursday reported third-quarter net income of $16.1 million.
The Mayfield Heights, Ohio-based company said it had net income of 19 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for costs related to mergers and acquisitions and non-recurring costs, came to 37 cents per share.
The results fell short of Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 40 cents per share.

On a per-share basis, the Mayfield Heights, Ohio-based company said it had net income of 35 cents. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs and restructuring costs, came to 44 cents per share.
The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 43 cents per share.
BOBBY J. FARRIS, 81, of Newburgh Heights, Ohio, husband of Mary Farris, died April 18 at his residence. He was retired from Ferro Corporation. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Evans Funeral Home and Cremation Services; burial at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
