NEW YORK (AP) — Hardcore fans of the Beatles like to pore over every detail of the band and endlessly dissect their songs. Then there's Giles Martin, who manages to time travel to meet the Fab Four.
Martin is the son of legendary Beatles producer George Martin, and he's lately been returning to the treasure trove of original recording sessions to remix key albums by John, Paul, George and Ringo.

Residents accuse company of allowing toxins to flood in home
CHERAW, S.C. (AP) — Residents of a South Carolina town are suing one of the area's major employers alleging it allowed toxins to flood onto their property and into their home during Hurricane Florence.
The State reports Cheraw residents George Martin and Catherine Martin filed the lawsuit Thursday in Chesterfield County. Their suit is the first of several expected to be filed over the September flood.
Beatles release new video for ‘Glass Onion’ on Apple Music
NEW YORK (AP) — The Beatles have released a new music video on Apple Music for their 1968 song, "Glass Onion."
The video was released Tuesday and features rare photos and performance footage. The song appeared on their self-titled ninth album, often referred to as the "White Album," which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year.
The Beatles will re-release the "White Album" on Nov. 9, featuring 30 tracks newly mixed by Giles Martin, the son of longtime Beatles producer George Martin.
Robert Morris edges Division II Central State (Ohio) 49-45
MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. (AP) — Jimmy Walker threw for 162 yards and four touchdowns and Robert Morris beat Division II Central State (Ohio) 49-45 on Saturday.
RMU had 539 yards of offense, its most since 2001.
Freshman Alijah Jackson rushed for 153 yards and a touchdown and Terence Stephens added 135 yards and a score for Robert Morris (2-5). They're the first RMU rushing duo since 1997 to reach the century mark in the same game.
Getting better: Beatles’ ‘Sgt. Pepper’ named top album in UK
LONDON (AP) — The Beatles' psychedelic masterwork "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" has been named the most popular British album in history.
The Official Charts Company said Saturday that the band's 1967 classic is Britain's favorite album based on physical sales, downloads and streams in the U.K.
The album found the four mates from Liverpool at their most experimental and inventive and includes favorites like "With a Little Help from My Friends" and "A Day in the Life."

NEW YORK (AP) — Giles Martin says his father, producer George Martin, would wince whenever a fan would say that the "White Album" was their favorite Beatles' record.
The late George Martin would recall how tough it was to make the sprawling double album, titled "The Beatles" but given its familiar nickname because of the all-white cover. His son is in charge of a 50th anniversary repackaging that is due out Nov. 9.
Trooper convicted, freed in wife’s murder faces new trial
MOBILE, Ala. (AP) — The Alabama Supreme Court has ruled that a former state trooper who spent 15 years in prison for the murder of his wife before being released by a judge two years ago will face a new trial in her death.
Al.com reports that George Martin, now 60, was convicted of capital murder in 2000 for the death of his wife Hammoleketh Martin five years earlier.
Opening statements begin in bribery trial
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) — Lawyers have given opening statements in the bribery trial of two attorneys and a coal company executive accused of paying a lawmaker to oppose a pollution clean-up plan.
News outlets report that Assistant U.S. Attorney George Martin told jurors Tuesday that that the three worked together to pay the legislator $375,000 to oppose the expansion of an environmental cleanup site in north Birmingham.

George Martin Weight, 94, passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2018 from natural causes. He was born to George and Mary Weight on January 9, 1924 in Price, Utah. He was preceeded in death by his first wife, Velma Weight.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mabel Hughes; husband, George Martin Jr.; daughter, Yvonne "Peaches" Lundsford; sister, Sylvia Lundy; and brother, Charles Lee Hughes. She is survived by her children, Terry (Teresa) Martin of Cottageville, W.Va., George III (Belinda) Martin of Visalia, Calif., and Greg (Christy) Martin of Ashland, Ky.; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation or services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, Lexington, Ky., in honor of the care of her great-grandson, Brently J. George was born March 11, 2017, at Mayo Clinic. He was born at 9:17 pm, weighing 6 pounds 12 ounces and was 20 inches in length.
George is the son of Jason and Phoebe Wagner, sibling to Juniper Wagner, grandson to Steve and Pamela Wagner, Randy and Janice Domke, and James Farris.
She made an offer, and he wanted a hug. She wanted to help, and he needed a kidney.
He still remembers that moment.
Mary Taylor and George Martin live in Ludington. She is 29 years old. He is 67.
On Jan. 25, their lives will be linked together through a kidney operation that will likely keep “George living longer,” Taylor said.
