UC Riverside leads throughout to beat Cal Poly 72-63
RIVERSIDE, Calif. (AP) — Dikymbe Martin had 20 points with eight rebounds and six assists and UC Riverside led throughout to beat Cal Poly 72-63 on Thursday night to secure a spot in the Big West Conference Tournament beginning March 8.
Martin, who had eight points in the final minute, made 10 of 11 from the line. Chance Murray drained 5 of 10 from long range to total 17 points and Alex Larsson added 16 for the Highlanders (9-20, 4-11).
Edgar Jr., Leonard score 21 apiece; UC Irvine beats Cal Poly
SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. (AP) — John Edgar Jr. and Evan Leonard scored 21 points apiece to help UC Irvine beat Cal Poly 75-58 on Saturday night.
Edgar made 9 of 14 from the field and grabbed seven rebounds, while Leonard made three 3-pointers and finished 7-of-13 shooting overall. Eyassu Worku added 10 points and eight assists for UC Irvine (14-15, 9-4 Big West). The Anteaters remain tied with UC Davis for second in the conference standings, a half-game behind UC Santa Barbara.
UC Davis outlasts Cal Poly in triple overtime 92-84
SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. (AP) — Michael Onyebalu had 24 points, Siler Schneider scored 16 and Rogers Printup added 15 points as UC Davis outlasted Cal Poly 92-84 in triple overtime on Thursday night.
In the third overtime, Schneider scored the first four points, and Onyebalu added a layup to put the Aggies (17-9, 8-4 Big West Conference) up six. Cal Poly never recovered, and could only get within four points before falling.
Cal Poly rallies in 2nd half, beats Hawaii 78-64
SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. (AP) — Donovan Fields scored 13 of his 15 points in the second half to help Cal Poly beat Hawaii 78-64 on Saturday night.
Cal Poly (8-15, 3-6 Big West Conference) has won two straight since snapping a six-game skid. Hawaii (13-8, 4-4) has lost three in row.
Luke Meikle, Jakub Niziol and Victor Joseph each scored 12 points for the Mustangs.
Fields jumper gives Cal Poly 71-68 edge over UC Riverside
SAN LUIS OPISBO, Calif. (AP) — Donovan Fields sank a jumper with seconds to play to put Cal Poly on top for a 71-68 win over UC Riverside on Wednesday night.
The Mustangs (7-15, 2-6 Big West) led 38-34 at halftime but fell behind in the second half to trail 58-56 with 8:21 to play. They stayed close, tying the score twice before Fields hit his jumper with 12 seconds left to put them on top, 69-68. Victor Joseph sank two free throws in the final seconds for the final score.
Cal Poly beats DII Notre Dame de Namure 73-40 to snap skid
SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. (AP) — Donovan Fields scored 12 points and Josh Martin got his fifth career double-double to help Cal Poly snap a five-game skid with a 73-40 win over Division II Notre Dame de Namur on Saturday night.
Martin had 11 rebounds to go with 10 points, Victor Joseph added 11 points and Marcellus Garrick also finished with 10 points for Cal Poly, which controlled the glass 42-30.
Hervey shoots UT Arlington past Cal Poly 77-56
ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Kevin Hervey poured in 25 points on 10-of-18 shooting, including 5 of 7 from 3-point range, and grabbed 10 rebounds for his fourth straight double-double and UT Arlington overpowered Cal Poly 77-56 on Thursday night.
Kaelon Wilson added 13 points and Erick Neal scored nine with seven assists for the Mavericks (9-4), who turned 19 Cal Poly turnovers into 17 points and outscored the Mustangs 32-12 in the paint.
Emelogu keeps SMU perfect at home, dominates Cal Poly, 84-64
DALLAS (AP) — Ben Emelogu II did not miss, knocking down all five 3-pointers, another field goal and both free throws to amass 19 points as SMU dominated Cal Poly, 84-64 to win its 31st straight home game Tuesday night.
Shake Milton was 4 of 8 from behind the three-point arc, grabbed eight boards and dished six assists for the Mustangs. Overall SMU was 15 of 28 from behind the arc, hitting 53.6 percent of their shots from long range.
Fresno State cruises to 83-63 win over Cal Poly
SN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. (AP) — Deshon Taylor hit all 10 of his free-throw attempts and finished with 21 points, Ray Bowles added 19 points and Fresno State extended its win streak to six with an 83-63 victory over Cal Poly on Saturday night.
Terrell Carter II had 16 points on 7-for-7 shooting, Sam Bittner added 12 points and Bryson Williams 11 for Fresno State, which shot 51 percent from the field, including 9 for 18 from long range.
Cal Poly dumps College of Charleston, 73-68, in Great Alaska shootout
The temperatures outside of Alaska Airlines Center might have been hovering around zero degrees Wednesday, but the Cal Poly shooters certainly had the hot hands all afternoon.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — Victor Joseph scored eight of his 20 points in the final 1:32 to lead Cal Poly to a 73-68 victory over Charleston on Wednesday in a Great Alaska Shootout opener.
Joseph was 5 of 11 from the field and made four 3-pointers. Donovan Fields added 17 points on 5-of-15 shooting with three 3s for Cal Poly (3-2). Jakub Niziol sank all five of his 3-point attempts and matched a career-best with 15 points.
Hollingsworth leads Cal Poly to 76-47 win over Holy Names
SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. (AP) — Hank Hollingsworth had 10 points, 11 rebounds — both career highs — and three blocked shots to help Cal Poly cruise to a 76-47 win over Division II Holy Names on Wednesday night.
Jakub Niziol had 12 points and seven rebounds and Marcellus Garrick and Victor Joseph scored 11 points apiece for Cal Poly (1-3).
Cal Poly beats CSUN, continues giant killing in Big West
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Donovan Fields scored a career-high 23 points on 10-of-16 shooting, Jakub Niziol and Victor Joseph added 15 points, and piece and Cal Poly never trailed in its 85-71 win over Cal State Northridge on Wednesday night.
Niziol, whose previous career best was 11 points, scored 13 in the first half and finished with a career-best eight rebounds. Kyle Toth and Ridge Shipley each added 11 points for the Mustangs (8-17, 3-8 Big West).
Allen scores 21, Hawaii defeats Cal Poly 74-65
HONOLULU (AP) — Noah Allen scored 21 points and grabbed nine rebounds and Hawaii defeated Cal Poly 74-65 on Thursday night for its fourth-straight win.
Gibson Johnson added 15 points on 7-of-10 shooting for the Rainbow Warriors (12-11, 6-4 Big West), who never trailed.
UC Irvine beats Cal Poly 70-48 to stay unbeaten in Big West
SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. (AP) — Ioannis Dimakopoulos scored 19 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and UC Irvine beat Cal Poly 70-48 on Wednesday to win its seventh straight and remain undefeated in Big West Conference play.
Tommy Rutherford added 11 points for the Anteaters (12-9, 5-0), who shot 47.1 percent from the floor (24 of 51) and held Cal Poly to 24.1 percent.
