1 dead, 1 wounded after shooting near Atlantic City
PLEASANTVILLE, N.J. (AP) — Authorities in New Jersey say a man who shot another male in the face just outside of Atlantic City was found dead.
The Atlantic County prosecutor's office says police were called to a Pleasantville home shortly before 9 a.m. Saturday and found a male with a gunshot wound to the face. A handgun believed used in the shooting was recovered.

REDDING, Calif. (AP) — The death count from a Northern California wildfire rose to five Saturday after two young children and their great-grandmother who had been unaccounted for were confirmed dead.
"My babies are dead," Sherry Bledsoe said through tears after she and family members met with Shasta County sheriff's deputies.

(AP) — Two young children and their 70-year-old great-grandmother died in the wildfire that swept into the city of Redding with devastating speed, their family said Saturday, and a bulldozer operator who died working to contain the fire was identified as an 81-year-old man from a small community east of Sacramento.
A tearful Sherry Bledsoe confirmed the deaths of her grandmother, Melody Bledsoe, and her children, James Roberts, 5, and Emily Roberts, 4.
CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) — The Boy Scouts of America have severed ties with a 74-year-old New Jersey Scout leader facing child pornography charges.
County prosecutors say James Roberts was arrested Friday after a raid at his home. They also seized numerous digital devices that are now being reviewed.
Roberts has been charged with possessing and distributing child pornography. It wasn't known if he's retained an attorney, and a telephone number registered to him went unanswered Monday.
Judge sides with inmate on prosthetic leg, toilet access
CHICAGO (AP) — A federal judge in Chicago has ruled that Cook County Jail violated the rights of an inmate with a prosthetic leg because jail staff didn't always assign him to cells that had grab bars over his toilet to give him needed mobility.
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — A federal jury has found a Kansas City man not guilty in the fatal shooting of another man during a 2014 drug deal.
The Kansas City Star reports that 27-year-old Marcell Shavers was acquitted Thursday of using a firearm to commit murder during a drug-trafficking offense. Shavers had been charged in the 2014 New Year's Day shooting death of 40-year-old Jose Medellin.
