Wake Forest, Louisville both looking for 1st ACC victory
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Wake Forest and Louisville are both looking for their first win in Atlantic Coast Conference play this season.
They enter Saturday's matchup a combined 0-7 in league play. Louisville (2-5, 0-4 ACC) had last week off to regroup after its fourth straight loss, and players and coaches and should be refreshed as they try to get out of the division basement.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Louisville says top returning receiver Jaylen Smith "is doing well" after undergoing an emergency appendectomy hours before the Cardinals began fall practice.
The school says in a statement that the 6-foot-4, 223-pound senior had the procedure Friday.
Cardinals head trainer Matt Summers says Smith is expected to make a full recovery after the illness was detected early. The trainer added, "We look forward to him returning to the practice field as soon as possible."

CHARLOTTESVILLE — A year ago, Lamar Jackson broke Virginia’s heart.
On his way to winning the Heisman Trophy, Jackson shook off three of his least impressive quarters of the season to rally Louisville from a 10-point deficit, lifting the Cardinals to a 33-25 victory with a touchdown pass with 13 seconds to go at Scott Stadium in October.
“I’m just looking back at that like, ‘I’ve got to get my revenge, man,’ ” senior defensive end Andrew Brown said.
Jackson sets TD mark, No. 19 Louisville beats Kent St 42-3
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Louisville got the easy bounce-back victory it expected and Lamar Jackson broke a school record to boot.
Jackson accounted for three touchdowns to set a Louisville record with 88 in his career and the No. 19 Cardinals routed Kent State 42-3 Saturday.
A week after his team was soundly beaten by Clemson, Cardinals coach Bobby Petrino was happy with the effort but disappointed by four turnovers.
"We basically came out and took care of business," Petrino said.
Lamar Jackson explodes in Louisville win
Earlier in the week North Carolina said its defense would hold down Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson.
The reigning Heisman Trophy Winner went off for 393 yards through the air on 25-for-39 passing with three touchdowns. He also 19 times for 132 yards and three more touchdowns.

Louisville’s Jackson meets cancer patient before facing Duke
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Lamar Jackson made a big play for No. 7 Louisville before the Cardinals even took the field against Duke on Friday night.
The sophomore quarterback and Heisman Trophy contender had a hug, a smile and an autographed white football waiting for Amzie Smith, a junior at Louisville's Ballard High School who has cancer. Smith's wish was to meet Jackson and he gladly obliged as the team departed buses to begin their Card March into Papa John's Cardinal Stadium.
