SEATTLE (AP) — Jewell Loyd was unselfish in the deciding game of the WNBA semifinals, giving up her spot on the floor and choosing not to mess with what was going right for the Seattle Storm at the time.
Her decision appeared to be rewarded in Game 1 of the Finals.

NEW YORK (AP) — Everything seems to be going right for new coach Dan Hughes and the Seattle Storm.
Seattle is off to its best start since 2010 when the Storm were also 10-4. The Storm have benefited from a favorable schedule with nine of their first 15 games at home — the most of any team in the league.
They have gotten solid play from Breanna Stewart, Jewell Loyd and Natasha Howard allowing Hughes to give veteran guard Sue Bird games off to rest.

Seattle trailed 73-59 late in the third quarter before hitting back-to-back 3-pointers. The Storm took a 77-75 lead amid a 12-0 run — with seven points from Stewart.
The Sky only scored two points in the final four minutes.
