Maine's Dennis Ashley hit a 3-pointer with five seconds left to make it 67-64. A steal and layup by Vincent Eze cut the lead to a point with 1.4 seconds remaining but the Retrievers were able to inbound the ball to end the game.

Sherburne, a graduate student, became the third UMBC player in Division I to reach 1,000 points, 500 rebounds and 200 assists in a career. He set a school record by starting his 113th game.

BALTIMORE (AP) — Jalen Ross had 28 points, J.R. Lynch added 18 and Hartford scored 53 in the second half to overcome a 13-point deficit and beat UMBC 84-77 on Thursday night.

UMBC beats Maine 83-71 for 3rd straight win
BANGOR, Maine (AP) — Will Darley scored hit six 3-pointers and finished with 31 points and UMBC won its third straight game with an 83-71 win over Maine on Saturday.
Darley finished 11 of 20 from the field overall. Joe Sherburne added 16 points for the Retrievers (16-7, 7-3 America East), who hit nine 3-pointers and outscored the Black Bears 20-5 off the bench.
The 16 victories on the season are UMBC's most since winning 15 in 2008-09, and its eight road wins are the most since 2007-08.

BALTIMORE (AP) — Jarius Lyles scored 32 points and pulled down 20 rebounds as UMBC finally pulled away from The Citadel in the second overtime for a 120-111 victory on Monday night.

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — ShawnDre' Jones scored 19 points, including eight straight free throws in the final minute, to help Richmond hold off Maryland-Baltimore County 78-75 Saturday night.
A 3-pointer by Joe Sherburne got UMBC within one with 15 seconds left but Jones made four free throws and T.J. Cline two to counter four points from Jairus Lyles.
