Lucille Louise Walters, 88, of St. Charles, died Monday, Dec. 11, 2017, at Samaritan Bethany Home in Rochester.
Lucille was born to John and Louise (Miller) Schmit on Nov. 21, 1929, in Wabasha. She married Edwin John Walters on Oct. 26, 1950. They have seven children. Lucille and Edwin farmed on the Walters family farm in Quincy Township, before moving to St. Charles in 2000.

Husband grabs wife moments before tree crashes onto bed

No serious injuries were reported when a Rome Police Department patrol car collided with a motorcycle on Shorter Avenue shortly after 8 p.m. Tuesday.
According to Rome police Lt. John Walters:
A motorcycle was stopped in the turn lane on Shorter at Old Airport Road but the officer, whose name was not immediately available, didn’t see it when he drove into the lane.
