Running wild: Chiefs enter camp with loaded backfield
ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (AP) — Three years ago, a little-known and undersized running back out of Abilene Christian led the Kansas City Chiefs in rushing, filling in admirably for an injured Jamaal Charles.
These days, Charcandrick West finds himself fighting for a job.
That alone is a sign of just how much deeper and more talented the Chiefs' stable of running backs is this season. Kareem Hunt led the league in rushing as a rookie, but there is a crush of ability and experience nipping at his heels.

TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — If the Arizona Cardinals are to win their final two games to finish at 8-8, they'll need to rely on their depth.
The injury report had 15 players listed who either missed or were limited in practice. The situation improved Friday after physical issues and illness had an impact Wednesday and Thursday.
Diminutive Williams defies odds as NFL running back
TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — Kerwynn Williams has defied the odds, over and over.

Cardinals rule Adrian Peterson out of game vs Titans
TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — For the second week in a row, the Arizona Cardinals will be without running back Adrian Peterson due to a neck injury.
The 2012 NFL MVP, acquired in a trade with New Orleans early this season, has been ruled out for Sunday's home game against the Tennessee Titans.
Peterson did not practice all week after sitting out Sunday's home loss to the Los Angeles Rams. He was hurt two Sundays ago in the Cardinals' victory over Jacksonville.

Jets’ Harris, Cardinals’ Iupati inactive
GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) — New York Jets inside linebacker David Harris and Arizona Cardinals left guard Mike Iupati are inactive for Monday night's game.

SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) — Defensive lineman Glenn Dorsey and tight end Vance McDonald are among the players inactive for the San Francisco 49ers against the Arizona Cardinals.
Cornerback Jimmie Ward (quadriceps) and defensive lineman DeForest Buckner (foot) had already been ruled out of Thursday night's game. Dorsey is being held out with a knee injury and McDonald is missing his second straight game with an injured hip.
Cardinals’ Chris Johnson, Branch placed on injured reserve
TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — The Arizona Cardinals will be without running back Chris Johnson and safety Tyvon Branch for at least eight weeks as both players were placed on injured reserve on Tuesday.
NFL rules allow for one player to be eligible to return to the active roster eight weeks after his injured reserve designation, so one of the two could return in early December while the other will miss the rest of the season.
