Dodgers’ Cory Seager is running at nearly 100 percent
GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) — With Corey Seager's expected return by opening day and the acquisition of right-handed hitting center fielder A.J. Pollock, the Los Angeles Dodgers are not expected to be platooning.
Seager was limited to 26 games last season and did not play after April 29. He had Tommy John surgery on May 4 to repair a torn ulnar collateral ligament and had arthroscopic surgery on his left hip on Aug. 7.

Reliever Adam Ottavino and the Yankees agreed to a $27 million, three-year contract, a person familiar with the negotiations told The Associated Press on Thursday. The person spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity because the deal is subject to a successful physical.

Phillies hire infield coach and first base coach
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — The Phillies have finalized their coaching staff by hiring infield coach Bobby Dickerson and first base coach Paco Figueroa.
Dickerson spent the past six seasons with the Baltimore Orioles as third base coach and worked closely with Manny Machado, an All-Star free agent the Phillies are pursuing.
Figueroa will oversee outfielders and baserunning in addition to coaching first base. He replaces Jose Flores, who joined Baltimore's staff.

CHICAGO (AP) — Jon Jay sees the rebuilding Chicago White Sox poised for big things with promising young players. He's looking forward to being a part of it.

The free agent outfielder and the White Sox finalized a $4 million, one-year contract on Thursday.
The 33-year-old played for Kansas City and Arizona last season, batting .268 with three homers and 40 RBIs in 143 games. He also made at least 24 starts at each spot in the outfield.
Long and short of it: Tulowitzki happy if Yanks add Machado
NEW YORK (AP) — Troy Tulowitzki would be happy if the New York Yankees add Manny Machado to their infield, even if the move costs the 34-year-old shortstop playing time.
"Hey, I signed up to be a Yankee because I wanted to play with the best players," Tulowitzki said during a conference call Monday. "So if Manny is one of those guys, then I think that would be awesome. It would make the team that much stronger."

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — The Giants have acquired switch-hitting infielder and outfielder Breyvic Valera from the Baltimore Orioles for cash, adding another former Dodgers player Saturday who new San Francisco president of baseball operations Farhan Zaidi had in Los Angeles.
Valera batted .234 with eight RBIS while playing in 32 games between the Dodgers and Orioles last season while also playing for both clubs' Triple-A affiliates. He was traded to Baltimore in the Manny Machado deal last July 18.
Tulowitzki to play shortstop for Yanks until Didi returns
