DENVER (AP) — Two Colorado nurses will serve time in jail after pleading guilty to stealing opioids from health care facilities.
U.S. Attorney Bob Troyer's office announced Tuesday that 43-year-old Lisa Marie Jones was sentenced to 14 months in prison.
Jones pleaded guilty to theft and tampering with a consumer product.
Prosecutors say she stole hydromorphone, morphine and fentanyl from the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Denver and a free-standing UCHealth emergency room in 2016.

Tuesday evening wreck results in several injured; one life-flighted
According to the Georgia State Patrol, three were injured, one transported by LifeForce to Erlanger Medical in Chattanooga and two transported by Gordon EMS to Gordon Hospital, as a result of an accident on GA-53 East near Blackwood Springs Baptist Church.
According to the accident report, a 1989 Ford Bronco, driven by Teresa Diane Thomas, 56, of Ranger, turned left onto GA-53 in an attempt to travel west and struck a 2015 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT, driven by Kathy Marie Jones, 38, of Calhoun.

Edgar Roane Sr., 81, retired owner of painting service
Edgar “Edward“ Roane Sr., the owner of Roane Painting, died on Saturday, March 28, 2017. He was 81.
He was born on Jan. 18, 1936, to the late Edgar Roane and Veola Washington in King and Queen County, Va. He was adopted as a child by Blannie Johnson due to his mother’s sudden passing.
Roane, who was affectionately known as “Pop” or “Mr. Eddie,” was baptized at the age of 12. In the late 1950s, he moved to Philadelphia and eventually married Ann Marie Jones. Four sons were born to their union.
Virginia man says he almost died from backroom silicone injections
A Virginia man said Friday that he almost died two years ago after receiving silicone injections from a North Carolina woman who was charged this week in connection with the death of a Fayetteville teen.
Kavonceya Iman Cornelius, 42, of Salisbury, is charged with second-degree murder in the Jan. 12 death of Symone Marie Jones.
Colorado man arrested, charged in 1970 murder in Utah
A 76-year-old Colorado man was charged Monday in Utah with the 1970 of rape and murder of a Carbon County woman.
Thomas Edward Egley, of Rocky Ford, Colo., was charged in 7th District Court with murder in the second degree and first-degree felony rape for the slaying of 23-year-old Loretta Marie Jones at her home on July 30, 1970.
In 2009, Carbon County Sheriff’s Sgt. David Brewer reopened the case at the request of family members of the victim.
