Jenner, Anderson lead Blue Jackets past Coyotes 4-2
GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) — The Columbus Blue Jackets got early production from their fourth line, then turned to that unit again in the third period for big minutes.
Boone Jenner and Josh Anderson each tallied a goal and an assist, and David Savard and fourth-line forward Lukas Sedlak also scored for Columbus in a 4-2 victory over the Arizona Coyotes on Thursday night. Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 29 shots as the Blue Jackets won their second straight after a five-game losing streak.
Nash notches goal and assist as Blue Jackets beat Wild 4-2
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Riley Nash had a long wait to get his first goal as a Columbus Blue Jacket. When it finally came, it helped his team win.
Signed as a free agent last summer, Nash hadn't been able to find the back of the net in 23 games this season. In fact, his last goal came 29 games ago when he was with Boston — against the Blue Jackets.
Atkinson scores again as Blue Jackets beat Maple Leafs 4-2
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Cam Atkinson is on quite a roll for the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Atkinson scored for the sixth straight game, and the Blue Jackets beat the Toronto Maple Leafs 4-2 on Friday night to remain atop the Metropolitan Division.
Josh Anderson had two goals and Markus Hannikainen also scored, helping the Blue Jackets avenge a 4-2 loss at Toronto on Monday. Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 32 shots for his eighth win.
Anderson, Bjorkstrand lead Blue Jackets past Panthers 7-3
SUNRISE, Fla. (AP) — The Columbus Blue Jackets finally got their power play rolling again.
Oliver Bjorkstrand had two goals, including the tiebreaker with the man advantage, and Josh Anderson also scored twice to lift the Blue Jackets over the Florida Panthers 7-3 on Thursday night.
Bjorkstrand's power-play goal was the first on the road in 15 tries this season for Columbus, which entered 3 for 35 on the power play.
Blue Jackets waive backup goalie after poor performance
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — The Columbus Blue Jackets have waived backup goalie Curtis McElhinney after a disastrous weekend performance.
To replace McElhinney, Columbus recalled 24-year-old Anton Forsberg from the Cleveland Monsters of the AHL. If the 33-year-old McElhinney clears waivers, he'll be sent to Cleveland.
